PIIACUF background

Inaugurated in 2013, Putrajaya International Islamic Arts & Culture Festival (PIIACUF) presents  series of cultural and artistic events that affirm the cultural identities of the Islamic nation.

Since its inception, PIIACUF has welcomed over 1 million visitors through it doors and has progressed as an iconic event which is eagerly anticipated especially by Muslim communities across the globe.

O b j e c t i v e s  &  T h e m e

The development of Putrajaya represents the Malaysian government's ambition in projecting a modern Islamic identity and the uniqueness of Islamic heritage. In support of this aspiration, the Putrajaya International Islamic Arts and Cultural Festival (PIIACUF) was conceived to serve as the platform in nurturing/showcasing ideas, talents and expressions in line with Islamic arts and cultural perspective. With this event, PIIACUF aims to attract more visitors to Putrajaya and elevates Putrajaya as top-of-mind global tourist destination.

Entering its 5th edition this year, PIIACUF returns to enchant and delight arts and culture lovers with the theme "The Splendour of Music & Vocal of the Islamic World." This year, visitors will get to see  variety of musical intruments, experience different elements of sounds, music and theatre which are used as medium to convey emotions. Visitors can enjoy and learn about the instrument collection not only through exhibitions, but also by way of talks, live demonstrations, concerts and publications.
